Resuming a scan
Snapattic saves your progress as it goes, so you can stop and resume any time — across sleep, network drops, the daily limit, or quitting the app.
How to resume
- With a matching usable Keychain credential, reopen Snapattic and click Resume recovery once.
- If the prior App Password was session-only or Keychain cannot use it, Snapattic opens Reconnect to resume for the known Gmail account. Paste a current App Password; first-run setup education is not repeated.
Recovery picks up from the last saved checkpoint.
What “resume” guarantees
- No duplicates. Photos already recovered are recognized by their content and skipped, so resuming never saves the same photo twice.
- Continues from your last checkpoint. If a scan was interrupted mid-message, resume may re-check that one message — but already-saved photos are skipped, so you never get duplicates.
- Your mail is never touched. The scan is read-only: it never modifies, moves, flags, or deletes anything in your inbox.
When you might need to resume
- The connection dropped — resume when you are back online. See Network.
- The daily download limit was reached — resume the next day. See Daily limit.
- Your computer slept or you quit the app — just reopen and resume.

Big inboxes can take more than one session (and more than one day) to finish. That is expected; see Long scan duration.
