Who this release candidate is for

Access is limited to people directly invited to a supervised evaluation by the operator. The supported GUI path is macOS 13 or later, using a Gmail account that can issue a Google App Password and use IMAP. Do not redistribute a build or present it as generally available.

Advanced Protection accounts are unsupported. Work or school accounts work only when an administrator allows App Passwords and IMAP. Other mail providers, public self-service use and a complete mailbox-backup use case are outside this release candidate.

What Snapattic does in this build

Snapattic uses read-only IMAP behavior to find likely photo attachments, validate accepted image bytes, and save local copies. It is designed not to mark mail read, move, copy, delete, flag, append, or send messages. Accepted photos are organized by the email’s year, which may differ from the camera capture year.

The configured preview stops after the oldest 20 successfully accepted photos. Gmail search behavior, damaged attachments, unsupported formats, and the preview boundary mean the result is not a complete archive inventory.

What you agree to do

• Use only a Gmail archive you are authorized to access.
• Create a dedicated App Password, keep it secret, and never send it to the operator.
• Review the destination and available disk space before recovery.
• Keep your own backups of anything important; recovered output is not a backup service.
• Share privacy-safe feedback through the private invitation contact.
• Use only test details in Stripe test checkout. Do not enter or send a real card number.

A Google App Password is a broad credential even though Snapattic constrains its own mail operations to reading. You can revoke that credential in your Google Account at any time.

Release-candidate limitations

This build is supplied to learn whether the recovery idea is useful. It can be slow, require multiple sessions, encounter Gmail bandwidth limits, miss attachments, or stop for network and storage problems. Features, preview rules, supported systems, and any future offer can change before a release.

To the extent the law allows, the alpha is provided for evaluation as available, without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, complete, suitable for a particular archive, or made into a commercial product. Nothing here limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

Google, Stripe and other services

Gmail and Google Account security are operated by Google under their own terms. Snapattic does not control the availability of IMAP, App Passwords, or Gmail download limits. This Stripe test checkout and the Snapattic test licensing service are separate from mail recovery. The website is delivered by ordinary hosting and network providers.

Stopping the evaluation

You can stop at any time. Quit the app, forget any deliberately remembered credential, and revoke the dedicated App Password in Google. Removing the application does not erase recovered photos or local application data; delete those separately only if you intend to remove them.

The operator can also end or pause alpha access, especially if a build has a privacy, security, or data-integrity concern. For practical help, visit the support library or use the private contact supplied with the invitation.
