What to do
- In Google Account → Security → 2-Step Verification → App passwords, create a new app password.
- Paste the new 16-character app password into Snapattic and reconnect.
Why this happens
Changing your Google password (or removing 2-Step Verification) revokes app passwords for your safety. Recreating one takes about a minute.
Good to know
Nothing on your computer is affected — your recovered photos stay where they are, and your recovery progress is saved. Reconnect with the new app password and resume.
Mail access versus purchase access
Removing a Gmail App Password revokes future mail access only. It does not delete photos already saved on your Mac, remove local purchase access, refund a purchase, or revoke server-side restoration.
