Access was revoked

Your app password is no longer valid. This usually happens because the account password was changed — which silently invalidates every app password on the account.

What to do

  1. In Google Account → Security2-Step VerificationApp passwords, create a new app password.
  2. Paste the new 16-character app password into Snapattic and reconnect.

Why this happens

Changing your Google password (or removing 2-Step Verification) revokes app passwords for your safety. Recreating one takes about a minute.

Good to know

Nothing on your computer is affected — your recovered photos stay where they are, and your scan progress is saved. Reconnect with the new app password and resume.

Mail access versus purchase access

Removing a Gmail App Password revokes future mail access only. It does not delete photos already saved on your Mac, remove a local licence, refund a purchase, or revoke server-side restoration. Use the release-candidate guide for separate mail credential, licence, and data-removal steps.
