# macOS Gatekeeper

What happened, what it means, and what to do next.

The initial GUI release targets macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon (`arm64`) only. Intel Macs,
Windows GUI, and SmartScreen support are deferred. An Intel Mac cannot run this build; do not
substitute an older, unsigned, differently configured, or wrong-architecture installer for the
approved exact artifact.

## What a release artifact must show

A release artifact needs current evidence of exact committed source, manifest/checksum,
architecture, Developer ID signing, hardened runtime, notarization, stapling, Gatekeeper, and a
quarantined-DMG installed-copy journey. This source document does not claim that evidence exists.

## If you are an authorized test operator

Do not normalize a Gatekeeper warning for an unverified build. Confirm the artifact source and the
operator's signed-build instructions before opening it. A warning is a release-blocking result to
record for the release process, not a customer workaround to publish.

## Revoke Gmail access any time

You can delete the Gmail app password in Google Account security settings and choose **Forget** in
the app. This affects future IMAP access, not recovered local photos or a purchase entitlement. See
[Access was revoked](./access-revoked.md).
