# Skipped small images

What happened, what it means, and what to do next.

Snapattic keeps obvious tiny assets, logos, and tracking pixels out of the main recovered-photo
folders so they do not clutter the archive or consume free-preview slots.

When the app has already downloaded and decoded a skipped-small image, it keeps a recoverable copy
under:

```text
Pictures/Snapattic/<account>/_review/skipped-small/
```

You can restore any of these images. Keeping a selected item copies it back into the usual year
folder alongside your other recovered photos, and it no longer appears in the pending review list.

Pre-download junk decisions, such as an explicit logo or tracker filename with no downloaded bytes,
do not create a recoverable file because there are no image bytes to restore.

## Accessing the review folder

When recovery finishes with possible photos waiting, the completion screen shows **Review possible
photos** with the local pending count. The review displays eight items at a time. Move the pointer
over a preview, or focus it with the keyboard, to inspect it more closely; choose **Keep selected**
to put those items into their normal year folders.

Thumbnail generation is best-effort. An item whose preview cannot be shown is never offered as a
blind **Keep selected** action. Choose **Inspect in Finder** to open the local
`_review/skipped-small/` folder and inspect the original set-aside file instead. The review and its
previews stay on this Mac; there is no persistent or cloud-hosted gallery.

## Technical details

For each local review copy, Snapattic keeps an append-only record in `_review/skipped-small/` noting
the image's dimensions, why it was set aside, and its original attachment filename when available.
That record stays on this Mac and keeps the history even after an item is restored, for local
troubleshooting only.
