# Not enough disk space

What happened, what it means, and what to do next.

- [All support guides](/snapattic/support/)
- [Snapattic home](/snapattic/)

The disk you are saving photos to is full, so recovery stopped.

## What to do
1. Free up space on the destination disk (by default, your `Pictures` folder).
2. Choose **Retry recovery**. If you closed Snapattic, reopen it and choose **Continue recovery**.

## Good to know
- No partial or broken files are left behind — a photo is only moved into place once it is fully
downloaded and verified, so you never get half a photo.
- Your recovery progress is saved. Resuming continues from your last checkpoint and skips photos you
already have, so you never get duplicates.
- If your `Pictures` folder is on an external drive, make sure the drive is connected.

## Wrong folder?
If the destination isn't writable, see [Storage access](./storage-access.md).
